Welcome to LEAF Marque Chain of Custody

The areas of the LEAF Marque Chain of Custody you need to complete will depend on your business activities, for example:

Growers will need to input the following information and keep it up to date:

  • ‘Grown Products’ – this is all products that are grown or reared by the business
  • ‘Output Products’ – this is all products that the business sells. In many cases, the ‘Output Products’ will be similar to your ‘Grown Products’. They are most likely to be different if you grow grass, or other forage crops, which are consumed and sold as livestock.

Growers will also need to:

  • Complete a short Self-Assessment (Desktop Audit) to confirm which areas of the LEAF Marque supply chain you are involved in and who has responsibility for this within the business.
  • Subsequently, you may be asked to confirm a relationship and/or transactions with businesses who purchase your products. You will be notified by email when you have a relationship and/or a transaction to confirm.

Businesses that apply the LEAF Marque logo to packaging will need to:

  • Complete a Self-Assessment (Desktop Audit) to confirm that the business meet the requirements of LEAF Marque Supply chain.
  • Make ‘trading relationships’ with businesses from which the business sources LEAF Marque product (if applicable)
  • Detail transactions with businesses from which the business sources LEAF Marque product (if applicable)
  • Complete ‘Output Products’ to detail each product (SKU) which is sold by the business.
  • Have a licence granted for each product (SKU) which is sold with the LEAF Marque logo on. This should be done through a LEAF Marque Logo Licence Application for each product (SKU)

Businesses that purchase and/or process LEAF Marque certified produce will need to:

  • Complete a Self-Assessment (Desktop Audit) to confirm that the business meet the requirements of LEAF Marque Supply chain, this may include the business’ approach to handling LEAF Marque and non-LEAF Marque produce and the approach to ensure traceability.
  • Make ‘trading relationships’ with businesses from which the business sources LEAF Marque product (if applicable)
  • Detail transactions with businesses from which the business sources LEAF Marque product (if applicable)
  • Input ‘Manufacturing Processes’ and keep them up to date – this is all products which are combined, refined or derived from other input products.
  • Gain approval from LEAF Marque for each ‘Manufacturing Process’ that enters a LEAF Marque supply chain, therefore granting acceptance for its use within a final product (SKU) bearing the LEAF Marque logo and/or claims.
  • Input transactions for each ‘Manufacturing Process’ on a monthly basis, to record production mass.
  • Complete ‘Output Products’ to detail each product (SKU) which is sold by the business.
